We were proud to participate in the recent Careers Carousel event at Eastern High Community Campus in Cardiff alongside Lovell Partnerships Ltd. This event was a fantastic opportunity to connect directly with students, sharing insights into the construction industry and inspiring the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
Jamie Langdon, our Construction Manager, spoke about his own career path, emphasising the variety of work across different construction sites. He highlighted the significant skill gap in carpentry and underlined the high demand for talented carpenters in the industry.
Jamie also offered practical advice for students on how to prepare during their college years to pursue a rewarding career in construction.
The event also featured engaging activities like live demonstrations, including the crafting of numerous items including a wooden Christmas tree by one of our skilled Carpenters, Harvey Hughes, which truly captured the students’ attention and enthusiasm.
In addition to sharing our experiences, we also participated in mock interviews, helped students refine their CVs and provided personalised feedback.
At Advanced Carpentry Solutions, we focus on developing young talent and creating clear routes into construction careers. Participating in events like the Careers Carousel helps us engage with the community and support the next generation of carpenters.
